Cotton Officer Shirt:
Officer's and NCO's of the US Army and Air Corps frequently purchased additional uniforms from private tailors and department stores to supplement their standard issue. These are a copy of the standard officer quality garment worn in WWII. These are made from the same khaki cotton twill as the EM Shirts, but they differ in pattern. They feature a structured collar, front placket, and epaulets.
Sizing: These are sized like dress shirts by neck and sleeve measurement. Like the originals, the bodies are roomy and can easily be tailored to fit the individual by tapering the sides.
Shrinkage: 1.5"-2" in sleeve length, 1/4" in the collar, 1" in the chest. Do not order larger to account for this. Extra material was built in so these will be dead-on after they shrink.
Taper: Like originals and most dress shirts sold today, these are NOT tapered. This is 100% correct. If you have a slim waist you may need to have the sides taken in if you want a "sharper" appearance. If you have a pot gut, rejoice.
Sizing/ Fit: Our khakis are slightly oversized to allow for shrinkage. I test washed several pre-production samples to determine the correct amount. These are "right". Just order your "normal" size. We have built in a bit of extra fabric so that these will be just right after they shrink.
There is no need to order a larger size than you wear.
Washing Instructions: These are washer/dryer safe, but cold wash/ hang dry will give the longest service life and least fade.
